Can you believe its been a month since my last post. My goodness, where does the time go?
All is well here at the Phare. At the moment the guest house is full with missionaries from Mali, Rwanda and a North African Country. Its wonderful to see these hard working people rest a bit. Many of them live in very hot and difficult climates, so they've been enjoying the breeze that has been sweeping up from the ocean. Several of the families have kids so the campus has been overflowing with excited children. They all play well together and its great because it gives the parents a break.




Beautification projects are continuing on as planned. Today we took a rode trip to Thies and bought lovely chairs for the hut that was built. Now when the sudden urge hits to sit down with a cup of coffee and enjoy the trees and the birds and the silence, people have a place to sit.

Last month, around the same time as the DA retreat, we held a really special conference.
It was put on by Partners International. It was a women's conference with leaders from six West African countries. It focused on team building and prayer. It served to connect and strengthen partners working with children and women. The Theme this Year was "WALK WORTHY" taken from Ephesians 4 with a focus on humility, unity and love.
Thirty-five women attended the week long conference. I had a chance to talk to one of the coordinators of the group and she was brimming with excitement in telling me all the different testimonies of these women of how Jesus called them out of their lives to follow Him. Some of them he appeared to in dreams, some received the message and believed immediatly. She told me of one lady who accepted Christ and as a result lost her son. His father took him away from her. She continued, however, to serve the Lord and even started a ministry. Years later, her son ran away from home in search of his mom. He found her and God has restored and blessed their relationship.
Again, it was a pleasure and an honor to be able to host such an event. God is at work.
