Team in October

In the sticky heat of a sweltering Senegal day, a team of six people from Charlotte NC, descended onto our little campus bringing good tidings, great joy and hands ready and willing to get to work.
For the past week, the Phare has been experiencing another make over. This time it was as if was getting a facial and wax. The main apt. has been sadly lacking luster for several years. One half of the building was painted white awhile back, but the other side remained the ugly step-sister with chipped paint and gray cement slapped here and there. Since its one of the main buildings when you drive into the property, it made the place look a bit run down. So, under the watchful eye of David, the painter, and Aaron, the DIM, this team scraped and painted and turned the place into a luminous ‘maison blanc’.
Another thing that needed to be tended to desperately was tiling. There are several places around campus that need tile and or need new tiling. So, Leanne and Sarah collectively put there artistic skills to work and came up with this lovely design outside one of the apts. Its brilliant! It adds so much to this section of the Phare.
The guys also cracked up and carted away old tile that was in the dorm. The tile in the hallway has begun to sink, and so this project is now underway to restore it. While in the midst of their hard labor, they discovered a cobra in their midst. Again, I’m amazed at how many snakes are found here, but how God just keeps people safe.
The team is packing up and leaving us tonight at 3 am. God has blessed us all, again, with the chance to work with great people who are willing to give up time and money to come and serve with us. And with the extra funds that they raised, the cost for this session of the Disciple Ship Training school was covered. AWESOME! God blows us away with how He provides.
