Plans for the teams in January and February

Two teams from North Way Community Church will come to help us at the Phare in January and in February. They will be helping us to complete our long term goal of adding a second public restroom. Finally!

Yvette's old room at the bottom of the stairs to the Mali Apartment stands empty at the moment. (Well, OK. Not exactly empty. It has become a convenient place to throw everything without a home, like spare gas bottles and bits of furniture. But it is supposed to be empty!)

She is happily installed in her new room under the stairs, the one carved out by the Wheaton guys last spring.

We did that precisely so that her old room, next to the current restroom, would become available. As the drawing above shows, we want to put 5 toilets and a couple showers in there. It will become the Women's. And the current one next door will become the Men's. Civilization will arrive!

The only part not shown in the drawing is an awning we plan to put on the outside to protect the restrooms from the rain. We've also talked about modifying the stairs so they take a 90 degree turn at the bottom. Right now everyone going up to or coming down from the conference room must pass right past the door to the bathroom.
